As a member school of Ambleside Schools International, our school is based upon the ideas of English author, philosopher and educator Charlotte Mason (1842-1923), who founded a teacher training college in Ambleside, England, inspired the creation of the Parents’ National Education Union, and shaped the work of education in hundreds of primary and secondary schools worldwide. Her ideas are set forth extensively in a six volume collection of her writings, and can be summarized as follows:
“Children are born Persons” and “Education is an Atmosphere, a Discipline and a Life.” This feeds into our vision and philosophy. We believe your child is unique and deserving of respect. Their education is not just a number or score on a standardized test, but an experience to be had as they meet personal goals and challenges to become the best person God made them to be. |

When we look at a child, we see a whole person. Someone born with an innate desire to know and a curiosity that drives learning, for a lifetime. We see minds hungry for ideas. It is our job, our mission, our calling to cultivate an atmosphere best suited for your children to thrive.
While our teachers are passionate and more than capable of instructing your child, they have a strong method which guides their approach. It is in the strength of this that we maintain our consistency across the variety of personalities and backgrounds leading in the classrooms. It is also the steadying force in your child’s growth as they move upward through the grades. Subjects and certain elements of the approach shift to meet their maturity, but the core remains consistent. |

As a teaching environment for educators, we believe there is none more well-suited than Ambleside. Teachers love their pupils and get to share with them in that enthusiasm for learning. The relationship between each subject and the substance within them provide just as much food for the mind of the teacher as each child. The ideas are engaging at any age. As teachers and fellow learners, it’s an invigorating place to be.

Where we are and where we are headed

We began Classes in the Fall of 2017 with Kinder and First grade students. Heading into Winter-Spring semester of 2019, we have added 2nd grade and will be adding 3rd grade in the Fall.
As we continue to grow, we will eventually be a full K-12 school, providing a top quality education that teaches all our students how to learn well so that when they reach the ages of getting a career, they will be leaders in their generation. We invite you to be apart of our process as we continually grow into what we hope will be the most successful school in the Rio Grande Valley in the coming years, producing the top students in the area.
